Anzac Day 2013

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in australia and new zealand, originally commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour the members of the australian and new zealand army corps(ANZAC) who fought at gillopi in the ottman empire during world war 1.It now more broadly commemorates all those who served and died in military operations for their countries.Anzac Day is also observed in the cook islands, niue, pitcairn and tonga. It is no longer observed as a national holiday in papua new guinea or samoa.
Today I have been teaching my Room 10 buddy Christine these netbook skills - how to open a doc, how to find a picture from google, how to type a sentence and change size, colour and fonts, and how to post to a blog.

My Aiga Poem

Aiga Poem

WALT write and present an Aiga poem about our ancestors and culture, and how we feel about them

My Family

I am Tongan
I am Proud of my culture
My ancestors guide me through my life
I am a dancer from my culture
My ancestors make me proud and give love, joy and courage
I believe in my ancestors
Where my ancestors grew up
I will walk with pride in the shadows of my ancestors
And part of my tupu aga
My ancestors give me good luck when I perform in front of my mum and dad’s family.
I respect, have care in me and I have love in my heart
I am Tongan

Room 6 Class Treaty

Room 6 Class Treaty

WALT post on our blog about our class treaty

At the start of the year, Room 6 decided on some rules to include in our class treaty.

Here are 5 that I think are important:

Learning

  • Be co-operative when we are working in a group, and help each other.

Working Together
  • Share our ideas with the class and our group.

Relationships
  • Show respect to all our classmates by speaking nicely to them.

Responsibilities
  • Tidy up when we have finished.

Behaviour
  • Show tolerance and treat people how you would like to be treated.
